Sofia and Dan's first date took place in Birmingham City Centre, so when they suggested the same location for their pre-wedding shoot I thought it was a very sweet and romantic thing to do. I joined them on a grey and slightly wet afternoon the Sunday before their wedding (talk about cutting it fine!), and we were met with a pretty much deserted city centre. Perfect for a loved up shoot!
We started out near the REP Theatre and The Library of Birmingham and we then weaved our way through back streets and beautiful architecture on the way to a green living wall I've been eyeing up for a while near Snow Hill Station. On the way, we were surrounded by cafes and restaurants closed for the day, but with lights still twinkling inside... Such pretty locations!
Green or living walls, or even just a solid sheet of vegetation, are one of my favourite backdrops for couples portrait sessions. They look luscious and colourful and natural! This specific one is full of green and reddish tones, with a load of texture thrown in. Perfect to frame some much needed PDAs and some goofing around too.
You can catch up with their lovely Humanist wedding at the Holywell Music Room in Oxford HERE.
