Sophie and Alan chose the stunning De Vere Wotton House for their wedding day in early June. After a huge deluge on the way down to Surrey (I'm talking black skies, no visibility and all traffic going at 30mph on the motorway!), the sun made an appearance and a half on the day. Sophie got ready at her father's house, surrounded by family and friends. She opted for a stunning long dress from Essense of Australia, and paired it with some royal blue Badgley Mischka heels. That little flash of colour worked wonders and matched perfectlywith the flowers (which included thistles to recorgnise Alan's Scottish heritage).
Lately, it's been on the news that they are planning to relax the law on outdoor weddings in England. Hurrah! Until now, you had to be under a roof for a legal ceremony. I'm looking forward to more outdoor weddings in the future, as they can be glorious in the sunshine. And this wedding in Surrey was no exception, I was one happy wedding photographer! The newlyweds walked up the aisle to a load of bubbles, and then partied till late in the night.
Sophie and Alan, thank you so much for letting me be your Wotton House wedding photographer. What a lovely day! Now you begin an exciting new part of your lives. G xx
